This tutorial guides you through the file upload process.


Initial Setup

  1. Install Globus Connect Personal on your computer.
  2. During setup, select the folder(s) you want to make available for transfer.

Upload Files via Globus

  1. Log in to the portal.
  2. Navigate to Raw File Management.
  3. Click Upload Files via Globus. If you want to upload to group shared folder, switch to group folder first.
  4. A new browser tab will open with the two-panel Globus File Manager:
  5. Left panel — your Globus Personal collection (your computer)
  6. Right panel — server collection (upload destination)
  7. Important: Upload files only to the root folder of the destination.
  8. In the left panel, select your desktop collection and navigate to the desired files.
  9. Drag files from the left panel to the right panel
    or click Transfer or Sync to ... to start the transfer.
  10. Uploaded files will appear in the system immediately, but please ensure the transfer completes successfully. For file conversion instructions, see File Conversion Guide.

Troubleshooting

  • If the server collection does not appear in the right panel, close the Globus browser tab and click Upload Files via Globus again.
  • Ensure Globus Connect Personal is running on your computer.
  • Confirm you selected the correct shared folder during setup.
  • If issues persist, contact the site administrator for assistance.
